Method:
Combine the seeds and the almond flour together in a bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk the remaining ingredients with the water. Combine the two mixtures together and stir until thick and combined. Allow the chia seeds time to absorb all of the water. They’ll become denser in volume and more gelatinous in texture.
Spread the mixture onto a tray lined with baking paper and bake in an oven pre-heated to 180C for 30 minutes. When cooked, take the tray from the oven and cut into individual crackers. Pop them back on the tray on their reverse side and bake for another 25 minutes.
When cooked, cool completely and store in a sealed contained for 2 weeks. Enjoy these healthy crackers with mashed avocado or your favourite cream cheese and smoked salmon.
Sugar Safe Tips:
Omega-3 fatty acids help to raise HDL cholesterol, which is the ”good” cholesterol that can help to protect your body against heart attacks and strokes. Chia seeds in particular are packed with omega-3 fatty acids, as well as antioxidants and fibre.
